Dan Wong 37
We all have service responsibilities. But how that is defined, and what is expected may vary depending on your institution and location. What counts at your college? What are you doing? How is its value measured?
Pouya Jahans 0
While service is a broad subject and unique to each institution, it has always been my perspective to find aspects in the university environment that I appreciate and would like to be involved in. I had always done this regardless of my tenure track position or not – simply said university is my second home and I want to be involved in it. At our university ( Oklahoma State University) such things have included engaging with The Center for Sovereign Nations, International Students program, Global Studies, and the Graduate College. In each aspect I thrive to be engaged on a continuous basis and develop a relationship with staff and faculty to pursue broader possibilities, allowing me to feel at home, and of course meeting my official 'service' qualification needs.
