Jessica Barness
Peer-reviewed academic journals typically have a clear process for submissions, etc., However, I've noticed that this is not the norm for non-academic publications (i.e., Eye magazine or similar). Do any of you have experience with this? If so, how have you navigated article or essay submissions to those venues?
Robin Landa
Most often, it is the editor or editorial team who acquires articles or reviews. I write a pitch and then email it to the publication's editor. For some magazines, there are two editors: one for the online edition and one for print. John L. Walters is the editor of Eye Magazine. I suggest writing an article pitch and emailing it to him at Eye. http://www.eyemagazine.com/contact
