The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate and postgraduate programs and for maintaining and advancing their research and/or professional capabilities relevant to the discipline. Professional practitioners with demonstrable research expertise are encouraged to apply. The position requires demonstrated ability to teach into the Master of Communication Design, Master of Design Futures, as well as the Bachelor of Design (Communication Design). The preferred candidate will be an experienced teacher and be able to demonstrate the ability to work at industry standards and integrate their design practice with teaching and research. The position requires a demonstrated commitment to research and a collaborative work ethic. This is a full-time position, but a reduced fraction may be negotiated to accommodate professional practice or personal circumstances. Skills & Experience Required Applicants will need to have recent experience in some or all of the following: design research methods; user testing and human-centred design; interaction or user interface design; user research; action research. In addition, applicants should have substantial track record of professional design practice in some or all of these fields, or have a significant track record of research in these fields. They should also be able to demonstrate significant networks in industry or research contexts related to some or all of these fields. Candidates should have a completed doctorate or PhD within a related field, or be able to demonstrate equivalence based on professional practice. They will be required to undertake activities in line with the university’s research strategy that emphasises relevant and applied research to advance scholarship and professional engagement.
