Job Description: The Department of Communication, Graphic Design and Web Development seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Graphic Design Communication starting in Fall 2020. The Department is looking for a dynamic educator to participate in ongoing curricular design and to bring innovative approaches and subjects to the Roger Williams Graphic Design Communication program. Primary responsibilities include: Teaching foundation courses in graphic design, including, but not limited to, introduction to design communication, typography, and history of design. Teaching upper-level courses in respective research and areas of expertise. Requirements: In addition to the primary responsibilities listed above, successful candidates will be equipped to offer innovations in both pedagogy and curriculum that respond to the demands of this evolving field. We are seeking candidates who primarily identify as designers and who have demonstrated pedagogical expertise in design education. Successful candidates should have a terminal graduate degree in Graphic Design, at least two years college-level teaching experience in graphic design, and at least two years of leadership experience or other activities within a professional design agency or company. In addition, candidates should be able to move between both print and screen-based platforms. Candidates with one or more teaching and research interests in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: information design, motion design, design research, respectful design, design anthropology, design authorship and entrepreneurship, among other emerging areas.   2. https://apply.interfolio.com/65221 Description The School of Design within the College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University invites applications to apply for a full-time non-tenure track, one-year position (renewable) position in our Graphic Design program, located in the heart of Chicago’s vibrant Loop. The Graphic Design program is an anchor program in the School of Design, which includes cross-disciplinary programs in User Experience Design, and Game Design. The primary responsibilities for this position are the teaching of undergraduates and the development of new and existing coursework. We are in the process of building graduate degrees in Graphic Design and presently have graduate degrees in Experience Design, Human-centered Design and joint programs with the College of Communication in Digital Communication Media Arts and with the School of Computing in Human Computer Interaction. Other responsibilities will include contributing to the program's extracurricular student groups; supporting the school's design speaker series; and strengthening our external networks and connections in the field.
